Diane Raye: as scanned from the pages of the WWII magazine Burlesk volume 1, No. 3
Diane started her dancing career as a showgirl at the Hollywood Theater Cafe on Broadway NYC. But her success as a principal dancer came in Chicago where she was very popular performer at the Rialto Theater. Diane married comic Eddie Lynch, who later became a burlesque producer.
Rita Grable: 27 January 1959 news service photo of the Detroit, Michigan Gayety Burlesque Theater on Cadillac Square. Rita Grable in Black Stockings is advertised on the marquee. Rita was frequently billed as “the Girl in Black Stockings”, so this was probably just a shortened form of her moniker. This was actually Rita’s last appearance as a burlesque dancer, because shortly after this appearance she married.
